In high-volume metal fabrication facilities, industrial welding smoke and fumes represent one of the most hazardous airborne pollutants generated during daily production. Because these thermal plumes consist of micron and submicron-sized metallic particulate, they rapidly enter the plant's airstream and breathing zones if left unmanaged. Prolonged exposure to these toxic air impurities is a leading cause of severe, chronic health issues. "Because welding smoke, dust, haze, and fumes consist of micron and submicron-sized particulate, they can quickly join the airstream and become inhaled, targeting the blood, lungs, and central nervous system. Overexposure can result in long-term organ damage, including stomach ulcers, kidney damage, and nervous system disorders.

Mitigating Hexavalent Chromium and Heavy Metal Hazards

Processes involving stainless steel, galvanized metals, or specialized filler wires release highly toxic secondary particulates. Among the most dangerous is Hexavalent Chromium [Cr(VI)], a known carcinogenic substance strictly regulated under OSHA permissible exposure limits (PELs). Micro Air provides engineered, industrial-grade filtration systems designed to capture these submicron heavy metals before they compromise your facility's indoor air quality or trigger regulatory non-compliance.

Engineered Source Capture & Ambient Air Solutions

Every manufacturing floor presents distinct structural layout and workflow challenges. To ensure 100% compliance and worker safety, Micro Air manufactures a comprehensive suite of heavy-duty ventilation equipment:

  • High-Efficiency Cartridge Dust Collectors: Utilizing advanced cartridge media choices and our Roto-Pulse® filter cleaning technology for increased filter life without the noise of traditional reverse jet pulse.
  • Clean Air Booths (CAB): Modular, ductless vertical cross draft booths for unrestrained fabrication tasks.
  • Flexible Source Capture Arms & Down Draft Tables: Highly adjustable capture systems that pull hot weld smoke directly away from the operator's breathing zone in real-time.
  • Ambient Air Cleaners: Over-head multi-stage configurations designed to eliminate general facility haze and cycle filtered air back into your environment.

Design a Custom Fume Extraction System

Do not rely on standard HVAC or simple pedestal fans to manage heavy industrial smoke. Micro Air’s factory-trained network of Engineered Systems Distributors will conduct a comprehensive site assessment, analyze your specific metallurgy hazards, and engineer a custom air filtration layout tailored to your facility's floor plan
